Thanks go to various sources for the pictures, especially Lucas Witte for the really nice ones from Lagos.

Bonny Island is south of Port Harcourt, and can only be reached by water. From our Supply base there fast boats will take you there in about an hour and a half. Sometimes you can be lucky and hitch a ride on a chopper.

The pic shows the RA (residential area), the (only) road and the plant in the distance. On the RA you see all the white/yellow houses. The red buildings are the school, gym, restaurants and clinic. On the RA most of the telecom stuff is concentrated, also a number of satellite dishes for TV reception, Internet and Email as well as telephone. (above right)

A look at train 1 & 2 at the IA or Industrial area.

One of our ships, the L.N.G. "Finima" at the LNG jetty.

Some views of the market near the beach. On the right Egbert (resident) and Henk (visiting) IT colleagues

Some pics from the War museum in Umuahia in Abia state, north of Port Harcourt. Stella and Christiana on the left.

The crooks on the left are our former driver and the police guy we rented during our trip to the east. The crooks on the right are Richard and Kevin who visit us sometimes in Lagos.

We lived for 15 months in the Eko hotel, a bit too long. The view from the hotel by day and by night.

View from the back of Eko hotel, looking into the direction of Lekki peninsula. The lagoon on the right is Kuramo Waters. A sad thing is that squatters on the beach start using it as a toilet and also clean the dishes of the beach restaurants there, so better eat somewhere else unless you have a strong stomach.

Often we take visitors to Lekki Market at the south-east side of Lagos. It is a local market (fruit, meat, CD's, cigarettes) as well as a souvenir and handicraft market .Nigeria respects the international rules on export of Ivory, but not everybody is fully aware of that fact yet. Some stuff is made of cow bones, but it's better not to take risks here.
We have a nice flat on Ikoyi island in Lagos, provided by the company. Here it looks quite big, but that's because our stuff hadn't arrived yet so it is still a bit empty. Have to make a few more pics soon.

Some views from the top floor of our apartment building. We are on the second floor and look at this junction from a bit closer by. Always busy, and almost an incident every day as people here don't know too many traffic rules.
